Hamburg based trombonist, composer and sound artist Felix Mayer dedicates himself to experimental music in its various forms: playing in bands, collectives and ad-hoc groups, realising video scores, improvisation concepts and sound installations. Additionally, he is working in interdisciplinary contexts with dance, theatre and performance as well as organising the concert series 'sonopol'. Recent projects include duos with trumpeter Birgit Ulher and pianist Hans Schüttler, 'EMN' – a composer-performer quartet focusing on graphic scores, text and game pieces, as well as an interdisciplinary performance project, 'Everybody Birthdays’, which works on the edges of improvised music, performance and dance. Currently he's working on a series of participatory, sound walk radioshows for 'Radio Tsonami' (Chile) and a concert installation for four players and 32 tin can telephones, which will be premiered at 'blurred edges' festival 2022. Felix played concerts with Axel Dörner, Birgit Ulher, Ignaz Schick, Simone Weißenfels, Käthe Kruse (‘Die tödliche Doris'), Zsolt Sőrés, Simon Rose, Michael Thieke, Ingo Reulecke, Rafael Toral, Graham Dunning and many more.
