LOVER'S PHONE participatory sound installation, tin can telephone, speaker, 10 min · 2021 ​

A tin can telephone is mounted on the facade of hinterconti, on Balduinstraße between the Reeperbahn and the Hafenstraße. To use it you take the can in your hand and pull the wire taut; whatever you say then travels along the aluminium to a microphone at the other end. The microphone records continuously. I went through the recordings at regular intervals, chose from them and composed a piece, played from the basement window onto the street and growing longer across the two weeks of the exhibition.
